Reliable Local Electrician

General Residential Electrical Services

Looking for someone who shows up, gets the job done right, and leaves things neat? That's exactly how I work. I handle everything from small fixes to bigger projects, making sure your home's electrical is safe and working perfectly.

I know you've probably been let down by tradies before. The ones who don't show up, leave a mess, or hit you with surprise charges. I started this business because I got tired of hearing those same complaints. When you book me, you get someone who actually answers the phone, turns up when promised, and respects your home. No matter if I'm fixing a faulty switch or rewiring a renovation, I tackle every job the same: I diagnose, explain, and fix it right. No drama, no excuses.

What I Can Help You With

  • Power and Lighting Installations

Need an extra power point or better lighting in a room? I'll make it happen.

That extension cord running across the room? The desk lamp because there's no overhead light? Let's fix that properly. I'll put power points exactly where you need them - beside beds, behind TVs, in that corner where you charge everything. For lighting, I can help you choose the best options. Whether you need downlights to brighten a dark room or dimmers for movie nights, I’ll guide you based on your space and budget. Quick tip: adding power points to brick walls takes longer than plaster walls - I'll let you know which is which before quoting.

  • Electrical Fault Finding and Repairs

If something's not working right, I'll track it down and fix it properly.

Electrical faults are like solving a mystery. A flickering light could mean a loose connection, a bad switch, or something worse. I use proper test equipment (not guesswork) to find the actual problem, then explain what I've found in normal language. Sometimes it's a five-minute fix, sometimes we uncover dodgy DIY work that needs proper attention. Either way, I'll show you what's wrong, explain your options, and let you decide. If it's dangerous, I'll tell you straight - no scare tactics, just honest safety advice.

  • Safety Switch and Circuit Breaker Upgrades

I'll make sure your home's protection is up to today's standards.

Safety switches save lives. That's not marketing, it's fact. They cut power in milliseconds if something goes wrong. Many Canberra homes still don't have them on all circuits, or have old ones that don't work properly. Circuit breakers protect your wiring from overload. If yours are tripping regularly, we need to find out why. It could be a fault, could be you're just running too much on one circuit. I'll test what you've got, explain what you need, and upgrade what's necessary.

  • Home Wiring and Rewiring

Great for renovations or older homes. I'll bring your wiring up to scratch.

Old wiring isn't just unreliable, it can be genuinely dangerous. Pre-1980s homes often have undersized cables, deteriorating insulation, or creative DIY additions. During renovations is the perfect time to fix this. Walls are already open, so it's much less disruptive. I can also rewire lived-in homes room by room to minimise disruption. Fair warning: this isn't cheap work, but it's essential for safety and insurance purposes.

I'll always give you options from "minimum to be safe" to "let's do it all properly while we're here."

  • Switchboard Maintenance

I keep your home's power hub safe, tidy, and compliant.

Your switchboard is command central for your home's electricity. A well-maintained board means clearly labeled circuits (so you know what to turn off), properly secured connections (no fire risk), and room for future additions (solar, AC, etc.). I'll check everything's tight, test safety devices actually work, and tidy up any mess from previous work. If I find problems, I'll photograph them, explain what needs fixing, and give you options. Some things are urgent, some can wait - I'll be honest about which is which.

The Simple Process

Getting your electrical job sorted doesn't have to be a hassle. I keep it straightforward so you know exactly what's happening from start to finish.

No mysterious processes or surprise steps. When you contact me, I'll ask questions to properly understand what you need. For smaller jobs, I can often quote over the phone. For bigger work, I'll come look (free quote) and explain your options

Get in Touch

Call or send a quote request with the details.

Just tell me what's going on - don't worry about using the right electrical terms. "That switch by the kitchen that sometimes doesn't work" is perfectly fine. The more details you give me upfront, the better I can help.

On-Site Work

I show up on time and get it done right.

When I say 9am, I mean 9am. If I'm running late (traffic happens), you'll get a call. I bring drop sheets, clean up as I go, and treat your home like my own.

Final Check

We make sure everything's safe and working perfectly.

Before I leave, we'll test everything together. I'll show you how new switches or features work, answer any questions, and make sure you're completely happy. You'll get a certificate of electrical safety where required.

What I Can Help You With

  • What areas do you service?

I work across Canberra and surrounding suburbs. If you're nearby, chances are I can get to you.

All of Canberra is my patch: from Gungahlin to Tuggeranong, and everywhere in between. Belconnen's my home base, but I regularly work in Woden, Inner North, Inner South, and out to places like Queanbeyan.

  • How soon can you start?

I aim to fit smaller jobs in quickly, often within a few days. Larger projects may need a bit more notice.

For urgent safety issues, I'll try to get there same day or next day.

  • Are you licensed and insured?

Absolutely. I'm fully licensed and insured for all residential electrical work, so you can have peace of mind.

ACT electrical license, proper insurance, all the boring but important stuff is sorted. This means your work is legal, compliant, and your insurance company won't have any issues if you need to claim.

  • Can you help with small jobs?

Yes, no job is too small. Whether it's fixing a power point or installing a few lights, I'm happy to help.

I get it. Some electricians won't show up for small jobs, or they'll charge you a fortune just to change a light switch. That's not me. Small jobs are the bread and butter of keeping homes running safely.
